Why I should stay off FB

I declared myself off of FB…should have followed my own counsel…but I popped in and learned something important about a friend, which caused me to pop in again, and spinning deeper into the vortex that is FB, I found the following recurring themes begging comment. So, here are the comments – all in one spot.

RE: “the red cup”: you’ve heard of bait, right? why are people on both sides still biting??

RE: “the LGBTQ…abcdef”: first century Jesus-followers dealt with similar folks much differently, perhaps we should too

RE: “those RepubliDemoCaniCrats”: both sides are a mess, let’s dig deeper than the handily divisive sound-bytes (see ‘bait’)

RE: “guns”: responsible people handle things responsibly, and criminal people handle things criminally…always have, always will

RE: “repost or else”: love & loyalty are bigger than whether one fills their newsfeed with paragraphs designed to fill a newsfeed

RE: “black vs white vs purple”: I did mention ‘bait’, right??

RE: “immigration”: we have laws and a process for adding citizens to our citizenry – as do most civilizations (see responsible/criminal)

RE: “unaccommodating businesses”: kosher delis don’t serve ham sandwiches, pizza shops don’t generally serve schnitzel – somebody out there is selling what you want to buy….go there.

RE: “the 1%”: if you live in America, you are wealthier than most of the world – for related discourse, consider the word ‘bait’

RE: “the flag”: every country has a banner…if ours bothers you, we the people of this country bother you, and it’s best you go home to your own country & symbol…this may involve reviewing the comment on “guns”

RE: “us vs them”: enough already, there’s really only “committed to Jesus” and “notsomuch”…recognize all other divisions as ‘bait’

RE: “the end”: Jesus is coming back, no one will know when until He shows up (because He said so). Will He find us being faithful, or playing with bait?

We now return you to your favorite crazy cat and/or fluffy puppy videos…enjoy… (oh, and a thankful shout-out to the folks sharing their actual life moments like achievements and hospital reports and celebrations and travels and recipes and tips and…)
