Family Reunion

Every year we get together the fourth weekend in June
to see most of the family, the old, the young, the brand new
Then when Sunday comes and it’s time to go home
just listen, and you will hear
family asking family, “Will I see you here next year?”

Will I see you at the last family reunion?
Will you be there to walk with me along the streets of gold?
Where a thousand years are just a moment in time
and half the glory there has never been told

Now some are singing ‘Amazing Grace’ in the other Ol’ Home Place
where we’ll get together one last day
and forever will be a Sunday celebration
just listen, I can almost hear them say

Will I see you at the last family reunion?
Will you be there to walk with me along the streets of gold?
Where a thousand years are just a moment in time
and half the glory there has never been told

I want to stroll over Heaven with you some glad day
when all our troubles and heartaches have truly vanished away
We’ll enjoy all the beauty where all things are new
I want to stroll over Heaven with you
